Advanced Life Support
The critical components covered in the Absolute Medical Response, ALS course include Basic and Advanced Life Support, Advanced Airway Management, Rhythm Recognition, Defibrillation, Emergency (ALS) drugs, Team member roles in ALS, the management of Anaphylaxis, the Management of Cardiac Arrest (ALS Algorithms) and Post Resuscitation Care. The ALS course incorporates more than the provision of information, assessment of knowledge base and demonstration of psychomotor skills. It encompasses the role of the General Practitioner approaching the resuscitation of the individual suffering a life-threatening emergency, in a systematic and controlled manner.
